Razer just launched a new – and pretty compact – wireless mouse: the Razer Atheris. Powered by two AA batteries, Razer claims that the Atheris can provide up to a whopping 350 hours of battery life; that’s quite an impressive claim.
Of course, Razer mention that this battery life will depend on the type of connection the wireless mouse is using. There are two ways the Atheris can connect to your PC: Bluetooth LE, or with a 2.4GHz dongle packed with Razer’s proprietary Adaptive Frequency Technology. AFT promises a strong, consistent wireless connection even with frequency interference from other wireless devices.
Other specifications of the Atheris are what you’d expect from a capable wireless mouse. It comes with a true 7,200 DPI optical sensor, 1000Hz polling rate, “gaming-grade” tactile scroll wheel, and an almost ambidextrous design with rubber side grips. (We say almost ambidextrous because the Atheris has two thumb buttons on the left side). Weighing only 66g – without the two AA batteries, of course – the Atheris is quite a lightweight mouse too.
The Razer Atheris is currently available in the US for $49.99, which comes up to about RM215. At the time of writing, the Atheris is not yet available on Razer’s Malaysian online store, but it should be available worldwide by the end of the year.
