MSI has unveiled its newest motherboard called the X299M Gaming Pro AC. Interestingly, the company boldly claims this this motherboard is the “world’s fastest microATX X299 motherboard.” The MSI X299M Gaming Pro AC is compatible with Intel’s recently launched Skylake-X family of processors.
When it comes to design, MSI’s X299M Gaming Pro AC features the same colour scheme as most motherboards that were announced recently: all black. That said, this motherboard is, at least, endowed with a few LED-lit areas (MSI Mystic Light Sync). Do bear in mind that the X299M Gaming Pro AC is, again, a microATX motherboard; this makes it suitable to be used with small form factor PC cases.
Specifications-wise, the MSI X299M Gaming Pro AC is fitted with four DIMM DDR4 RAM slots (up to 4,200MHz); three PCIE x16 slots; two M.2 slots; and eight SATA 6Gbps ports. MSI has also bestowed this motherboard with its “VR Boost Smart chip” which it claims to improve VR signal strength and reduce motion sickness.
As usual, the price and date of availability for MSI’s X299M Gaming Pro AC motherboard was not mentioned. That said, we do expect this mainboard to come with a rather hefty price tag – it is an X299 motherboard after all.
