If you’re a student looking for a new laptop, good news: Machines is offering RM500 discount on the MacBook Air laptops – the 2017 models to boot. Although the MacBook Air isn’t the most impressive laptop in Apple’s current catalogue, RM500 is still a pretty hefty discount.
Of course, as mentioned, this promotion is only available to “students or faculty members holding a valid student/staff ID of a Malaysia-based education institution.” If you’ve just been accepted to a college or university, worry not: Machines will also accept an offer letter.
This promotion is actually very similar to Apple’s education pricing, but Machines is offering a steeper discount. On Apple’s Malaysian online store, the education pricing for the 2017 MacBook Air are listed at RM3,969 and RM4,769 for the 128GB and 256GB models respectively. In comparison, Machines is giving RM500 off on both variants. Essentially, Machines is selling the 128GB and 256GB MacBook Air laptops for only RM3,699 and RM4,499 respectively.
Note that this promotion is only applicable to the 2017 MacBook Air laptops. In comparison to its predecessor, this year’s MacBook Air comes with a slightly faster 1.8GHz processor. However, it’s still a Broadwell CPU.

To enjoy this promotion, interested folks will have to visit Machines’ retail outlets; it is not valid on the retailer’s online store. The RM500 discount on the 2017 MacBook Air will end on 30 September 2017, and the full terms and conditions can be found here.
