Not long after launching the GT75VR Titan in Malaysia, MSI is introducing two more gaming laptops on our shores: the GE73VR and GE63VR. Packed with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPUs and 120Hz displays, these two gaming machines are packing quite respectable hardware; they even come with fully customisable RGB keyboards.
Out of the two gaming laptops, the GE73VR Raider is the slightly better equipped machine. It comes with a 17.3-inch 1080p 120Hz display with 94% NTSC colour coverage, an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor paired with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB NVMe SSD, and a 1TB 7200rpm HDD.
The GE63VR Raider, on the other hand, is very similar to the GE73VR. In fact, it’s really just a more compact variant, but there are some differences. Aside from its smaller 15.6-inch 1080p display – with 120Hz refresh rate too, of course – the GE63VR also comes with slightly less storage: it has a 128GB NVMe SSD instead of a 256GB one.
Interestingly, both the GE73VR and GE63VR come with RGB keyboards too, but it’s not your “conventional” one. According to MSI, it is the first company to introduce an RGB keyboard with individually customisable backlight: each key can be adjusted to the user’s liking.
The MSI GE73VR and GE63VR are now available for pre-order until 24 August on MSI’s online store, 11street, as well as from MSI’s retail stores. Alternatively, they can also be pre-ordered at Harvey Norman outlets. As for retail price, the GE63VR goes for RM7,199, while the GE73VR is priced at RM7,499.
