Sony is currently holding a roadshow in Mid Valley Megamall, where the company is showcasing its wide range of products. These include the very impressive Bravia A1 OLED TV, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, and even a couple of new sound bars. Of course, Sony is also running some promotions exclusively at the roadshow.
Officially launched back in April this year, the Bravia A1 is quite a stellar 4K OLED TV. Not only does it support HDR – it’s a given for a TV at this price point – it also comes with Sony’s 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme, “Accoustic Surface” technology, and of course, Android TV.
Currently available for purchase in Malaysia, the Bravia A1 retails at RM16,999 and RM29,999 for the 55-inch and 65-inch models respectively. Exclusively available at the roadshow only, every purchase of the Bravia A1 will come with a PlayStation 4 Pro worth RM1,799 too. Naturally, this is only available while stocks last.
Aside from that, Sony also showcased two relatively new sound bars: the HT-MT500 and HT-MT300. The RM2,699 MT500 offers high-resolution audio, a minimalist design, a wireless subwoofer – it can be neatly hidden under a couch – and wireless audio streaming over Bluetooth or WiFi. This really isn’t a surprise, of course: the MT500 comes with Chromecast built-in.
The MT300, on the other hand, is a more affordable alternative to the RM2,699 MT500. Retailing at RM1,199, it comes with a wireless subwoofer too, along with audio streaming over Bluetooth – no Chromecast built-in here.
And then we have the HT-ST5000 sound bar with Dolby Atmos technology, which was launched at the roadshow itself. Touted as a 7.1.2 channel sound bar system, this flagship product can “emulate a natural, three-dimensional sound field, all from a single soundbar and subwoofer.” We gave the ST5000 a quick listen at the roadshow, and we’re quite impressed with its audio quality.
Set to hit store shelves tomorrow on 10 August, the Sony HT-ST5000 retails at RM6,999. Sony’s Mid Valley roadshow, on the other hand, will run until this Sunday on 13 August.
