(UPDATE – 9 August, 10PM): Maxis has since clarified that the telco is not implementing any P2P throttling to its Home Broadband service. Learn more in this report.
Thanks to our tipster, it has come to our attention that Maxis has updated the product page for MaxisONE Home Broadband service. While the broadband plans look almost identical to existing plans, there is one interesting addition to the service’s FAQ section: P2P throttling.
According to the newly updated document, Maxis will apparently throttle all P2P traffic within MaxisONE Home Broadband from 8pm to 2am. Such restriction has never been mentioned in the previous iteration of the FAQ for MaxisONE Home Broadband.
As for the plans themselves, it seems that Maxis has streamlined them into four plans by consolidating the 30Mbps Lite and full-fledged into a single 30Mbps plan with free unlimited voice calls for RM 179 per month. Furthermore, the free unlimited voice call feature has also been added to the newly refreshed 10Mbps plan.
The changes can be seen in the images below:
Meanwhile, we are now reaching out to Maxis to obtain further clarifications regarding these changes. So, stay tuned.
