When the Huawei Nova 2 Plus’ retail price was revealed, many were wondering if the smaller device in the series, the Nova 2, will be made available in Malaysia too. Well, we’ve got official confirmation from Huawei Malaysia now: the Nova 2 will not be sold here.
According to a Huawei representative, the Chinese company will focus solely on the Nova 2 Plus for our market. Currently, there are no plans at all to bring in the Nova 2 to Malaysia, which really isn’t all that surprising: even the original Nova was not officially sold here.
In terms of specifications, the Nova 2 Plus is naturally the better-equipped device of the two. It has a bigger 3,340mAh battery (in comparison to the Nova 2’s 2,950mAh cell), a larger 5.5-inch display, and double the internal storage at 128GB.
Other specifications of the Nova 2 Plus include a HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, two rear cameras – one is a 12MP wide-angle lens while the other an 8MP telephoto lens – a 20MP front-facing shooter complete with Portrait Mode, and EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The Huawei Nova 2 Plus is currently up for pre-order on DirectD’s online store for RM1,999. Those who are interested can also pre-order the device at DirectD’s various retail outlets.
