Samsung is ready to announce its next flagship, the Galaxy Note 8, later this month. As Malaysia is traditionally one of the first markets for the phone to go on sale, we can expect it to arrive sometime in September. But if you need a flagship phone right now, here’s a really good deal for the current flagship, the Galaxy S8.
From the most recent rumours, it appears the Galaxy Note 8 will run on almost the same hardware as the current Galaxy S8 and S8+. The only differences seem to be the larger screen, additional RAM, a new dual camera setup, and of course, the S Pen.
While chances are that current flagships see a price drop whenever a new one comes along, this deal for the Galaxy S8 is hard to ignore. For just RM2,598 on Lazada, you can own one of the best Android smartphones this year at a 21% discount from its RM3,299 RRP. And this phone was just launched in May.
But wait. There’s an even better deal to be found. This time, it’s from another e-commerce marketplace, Qoo10. A listing there for the S8 offers the device for RM3,000, which is not that good a deal, but the marketplace currently has coupon codes for tech gadgets for up to RM500 off – bringing the total price down to just RM2,500 – 24% off the RRP.
The catch for the Qoo10 price is that the code can only be used on the Qoo10 app, which shouldn’t be that big of a deterrence for most people.
As we mentioned earlier, there might be more price drops in the future as the Note 8 enters the market. That means if you can wait about a month, you should – but this is a pretty great deal you can get right now. Our review of the larger Galaxy S8+ should help if you need more convincing.
