Back in March, Sony has released the system software update 4.5 for PlayStation 4 which brings together plenty of new features including the support of external hard drive. This is pretty much the genesis to the creation of Seagate Game Drive for PS4.
First announced to the world back in June, the Game Drive comes with 2TB of storage space which apparently allows gamers to fit more than 50 games into the drive according to Seagate. Compatible with the original PlayStation 4 model as well as PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, the USB 3.0-based external drive can be instantly recognized by the console and apparently can be utilized by gamers in under 3 minutes of its initial setup.
Do note that the new drive is not identical to the existing Seagate Game Drive for PlayStation which was already available in the market since few years ago. The differences between them are actually obvious: Game Drive for PS4 is an external drive while the Game Drive for PlayStation is an internal solid-state hybrid drive.
Price-wise, the Seagate Game Drive for PS4 goes for RM 449 and can be obtained directly from Seagate Official Store on Lazada Malaysia. It also comes standard with a 3-year warranty from the company.
