Razer believes that everything should be allowed to embrace its Chroma technology. Or at least that seems to be the idea behind the Chroma Hardware Development Kit; a series of RGB strips meant to be mounted to the inside of a PC case. That said, we can easily see these appear on just about everything else.
The Razer Chroma HDK is designed to allow system builders to incorporate Chroma lighting into their designs. This is generally to sync the lighting system across all Chroma devices; unifying the RGB light show into a single cohesive display.
At the heart of the kit is a central control module, capable of supporting up to four LED strips. Each strip is only about 50cm long, meaning that it’s just about enough to line the inside of one side of a PC case. That said, Razer will only be shipping the kit with two strips, meaning that extra lighting will have to bought separately.
The module and LED strips can also be mounted outside a PC. They draw power from a regular DC power cable, which means that it will easily work without the use of a computer. Perhaps for those who would prefer to RGB their gaming table instead. Or chair.
The Razer Chroma HDK sells for RM359, with additional LED strips being sold for RM179.
