Asus has unveiled its latest motherboard called the ROG Rampage VI Apex. This motherboard is, of course, made to cater for Intel’s latest lineup of Core X-series of processors. According to Asus, this motherboard is aimed primarily at hardcore overclockers and PC enthusiasts who are looking to push their system’s performance to its absolute limit.
Asus’s Rampage VI Apex is an ATX motherboard, which is equipped with Intel’s LGA2066 CPU socket. One standout feature about this motherboard is that it comes with a rather unique PCB design. Instead of having a “standard” rectangular shape, the right side of the Rampage VI Apex motherboard showcases a somewhat “angular” design.
When it comes to specifications, the Asus Rampage VI Apex comes equipped with four DIMM DDRD4 RAM slots; four PCIe 3.0 x16 slots; one PCIe 3.0 x4 slot; six SATA 6Gbps ports; as well as four M.2 slots. Meanwhile, USB connectivity support include one USB 3.1 Gen 2 front panel connector; one each of USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C ports; ten USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports; and six USB 2.0 ports.
Based on the listing at Geizhals, the Asus ROG Rampage VI Apex X299 comes with an eye opening price tag of €527 (about RM2,661). Unfortunately, local Malaysian pricing and date of availability was not mentioned by Asus, but do expect this motherboard to definitely put a dent in your wallet.
