It looks like leaks are starting to surface regarding the gaming benchmark performance of AMD’s high-end Radeon RX Vega 56 graphics card. The red company had recently published key specifications and price of this graphics card, but made little to no mention of its gaming performance.
Well, folks at TweakTown have been informed by an “industry source” regarding the gaming performance of a RX Vega 56 compared against Nvidia’s GTX 1070. It should be noted that these benchmarks were ran using an Intel Core i7-7700K CPU along with 16GB DDR4 RAM. All of the games tested ran at a resolution of 2560×1440.
When it comes to the “leaked” results, it looks like AMD’s Radeon RX Vega 56 is indeed more powerful than Nvidia’s GTX 1070. Four games were used in this benchmark: Battlefield 1, Civilization VI, DOOM, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The RX Vega 56 graphics card managed to obtain up to 32% higher framerates compared to the GTX 1070.
Given its superior performance over the GTX 1070, along with its relatively lower MSRP of US$399 (about RM1,709), consumers may find that the RX Vega 56 does indeed come with a better value for money. Despite this, we’d suggest our dear readers to take this leak with a grain of salt, at least until official reviews and gaming benchmarks are out.
