Lyft, the ride-sharing technology company which is also a fierce rival to Uber in the US has partnered with Disney in a collaboration which will bring ride-sharing services to guests of Walt Disney World Resorts. Guests at selected resorts can now open the Lyft app to get a fast ride service called the Minnie Van within the resort.
If you wondering why the service is called Minnie Van, this is due to the Chevrolet vehicles that it uses which have been done up to look like the iconic red polka dot design on Minnie Mouse’s dress. Each of these new Minnie Vans are able to accommodate up to 6 guests at a time.
Lyft also noted that Minnie Van will be driven by Disney cast members within these resorts although we are not sure whether they are general staff or performers since both type of personnel in Disney’s parks are being called using the same terminology.
If you already excited by the prospect of going around Disney’s resorts using Minnie Van, do note that it still in the pilot stage though. For starters, it will be offered to guests of Disney’s BoardWalk Resort as well as Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts.
Lyft has been growing their user base as their competitor, Uber, faces trouble in the US and throughout the world. Recently, Lyft has partnered with Taco Bell as well to allow users to add a stop at a Taco Bell between their pickup point and destination as well. Not a bad feature to have, indeed.
