Even though it was revealed in a rather subtle way, it has come to our attention that ASUS will be unveiling its Zenfone 4 smartphone line-up on 17 August in Taipei. This was confirmed as the company revealed that the famed Korean actor Gong Yoo will become the Zenfone 4’s ambassador in APAC region.
Prior to this confirmation, most reports online stated that the launch event will be taking place on 19 August in Philippines. Hence, it seems that the launch in Philippines might be a local launch event rather than a global press conference.
At the same time, the announcement has also offered the first look at Zenfone 4 as the smartphone is being hold by the company’s new ambassador. While the smartphone’s dual camera system is clearly being shown in the photo, it is likely that this is not the ZenFone 4 Max that was unveiled in Russia recently since they are clear differences between both devices in terms of designs.
It is also almost certain the phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor based on the signs on the launch event’s official website. Since the launch event in Taipei will take place in just few short weeks away, we expect more information regarding ZenFone 4 will pop up as we closer to the event.
