It’s the next step in the evolution of the automobile, and from a Malaysian perspective, it takes adaptive cruise control to the next level. With the recent launch of the 2017 Honda CR-V in Malaysia, the company has released a video to showcase the Honda Sensing technology present in the car.
As a recap, normal cruise-control just keeps your car travelling at a certain pre-set speed without any intervention on your part except steering. Active cruise control takes it a step further by automatically keeping a safe distance between your car and the one in front, slowing and speeding up on its own.
Honda Sensing is Honda’s suite of advance safety technologies that assists drivers on the road. Active Cruise-Control with Low-Speed Follow (LSF) allows the CR-V to dynamically adjust its speed based on the traffic conditions in front of the car. It can even come to a complete stop and move off again on its own, without any intervention on the driver’s part. Meanwhile, Lane-Keep Assist System (LKAS) makes sure you stay within the lines too.
