Alongside the official global launch of Ryzen 3, AMD has also announced that the company is releasing its Wraith Max cooler to consumers. Prior to today, the CPU cooler is only available to the company’s selected system partners.
While it might looked like the original Wraith CPU cooler, the Wraith Max is slightly quieter than its predecessor although not by much at 38 dBa as opposed to the original Wraith which is rated at 39 dBa. The Wraith Max does perform better since it has TDP rating of 140W versus its predecessor which was rated at 125W.
Another factor that really differentiate them from each other is the RGB LED ring on Wraith Max which is designed to work with RGB systems by a variety of manufacturers out there. Such implementations include ASRock RGB LED, ASUS Aura Sync, Biostar Vivid LED DJ, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion, and MSI Mystic Light Sync.
However, its release date and price tag in Malaysia is not yet known at the moment although if you need an indication, Wraith Max is listed at USD 59 (about RM 253) in United States. We’ll keep updated once we hear more from AMD but if you wondering how does it performed it real life, check out our Ryzen 5 1600X review which featured the cooler.
