Maybank has expanded its offerings on Maybank2U to cover Steam credits, MOLPoints, and MyCard. This gets around the blocks placed on its debit card services and instead turns it into a direct charge from the account.
The transaction can be conducted from both the Maybank2U website and the mobile app. It doesn’t quite directly deposit new funds into your favourite video game platform. Rather, customers are sent a top up code through SMS that can later be used to add funds to the digital wallets.
This allows Maybank customers without a credit card to buy games on Steam. It’s a bit of a roundabout solution, but one that works since Maybank debit cards block the world’s most popular gaming platform by default.
