HP is organising its first community-driven e-sports tournament in Malaysia, as part of the company’s big push into gaming. The Omen by HP Dota 2 Tournament has a prize pool of RM20,000, and has some big-name partners in Astro’s eGG Network as well as TGV Cinemas on board.
As the e-sports scene in Malaysia gathers greater momentum, more and more gaming brands are entering the scene. HP is the latest, and the company is pushing its Omen by HP gaming brand with the gaming community in the country with the announcement of the Omen by HP Dota 2 Tournament.
Up to 256 teams will battle it out via online qualifiers for a chance to take home the grand prize of RM10,000. The second-placed team will walk away with RM6,000, while two third-place prizes of RM2,000 round up the prize pool.
Interestingly, the grand finale will take place in a TGV cinema hall (actual location to be disclosed at a later date) on 12 August 2017 – before the live stream of the final of TI 7, the biggest Dota 2 tournament in the world.
Those interested to take part can register their teams starting today until 28 July 2017, and online qualifiers will take place on 29-30 July, as well as on 3-4 August.
More information on the tournament (as well as the registration link) can be found here.
