Returning for the fourth time in a row, the State Government of Selangor has officially announced that Selangor Cyber Games 2017 (SCG17) is scheduled to take place from 12 to 13 August at Paradigm Mall in Petaling Jaya. Organized with the help of Garena, Mineski Events Team, and Big Machinez, there are several factors that will make this year’s edition different from previous iteration of SCG.
As opposed to SCG16 which featured two international level competitions, SCG17 which is also made possible by its supporting partners such as Digi, Lenovo, Logitech, and Time is focusing on Malaysian gamers. Nevertheless, non-Malaysians are still welcomed to compete in event as long as it is allowed within terms and conditions for each competition in SCG17.
In terms of official titles, the main focus of SCG17 is League of Legends as the event will be hosting the finale of The Legends Circuit which is the highest level of competition for the game in Malaysia. Visitors to the event will be able to witness the top four LoL team in the country battling it out for RM 80,000 prize pool and a spot at the upcoming Garena Premier League Summer 2017 regional event in Thailand.

Meanwhile, Dota 2 will also be featured at SSG17 but with an interesting twist: it is open only to amateur players. With RM 50,000 worth of total cash prizes are up for grabs, this could be a major stepping stone for players and teams out there that are looking to break into the scene.
Not to forget, SCG17 also features FIFA Online 3 and Tekken 7 which are offering total cash prizes of RM 30,000 and RM 20,000 respectively. With the exception of LOL, do note that there will be no pre-event qualifying events for SCG17 which means that everyone will be competing right at Paradigm Mall this August.
Hence, you should register yourself if you are interested to participate in SCG17. To do that or to learn more about the event, head on to Selangor Cyber Games official website.
