Colorful has announced its latest lineup of products in the form of three brand new affordable SSDs: the CN600, CN500, and SL500 series. It’s worth noting that Colorful’s “CN” SSDs come in the M.2 form factor, while the “SL” SSDs feature the standard 2.5-inch SATA form factor. Folks at TechPowerUp have mentioned that all three SSDs will be made available in a storage capacity of 240GB.

Let’s first look at the CN600 and CN500 series. The Colorful CN600 is a NVMe M.2 SSD which uses the Realtek RTS 5760 controller. According to the China-based company, the CN600 features sequential read and write speeds of 800MBps and 700MBps respectively. Meanwhile, the Random read and write speeds are rated at 50K IOPS (input output operations per second) and 100K IOPS respectively.

The Colorful CN500, meanwhile, is a M.2 SSD that comes fitted with the the Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller. According to sources, this SSD features support for SATA 3.0 6Gbps. The sequential read and write speeds of the CN500 is rated at 530MBps and 250MBps respectively. In addition, the random read and write speeds of this SSD are 70K IOPS and 60K IOPS respectively.

The last new SSD that has been introduced by Colorful is the SL500, which features the Silicon Motion SM2256 controller. Being a 2.5-inch form factor SSD, the SL500 will, obviously, utilise the SATA 3.0 6Gbps connection. Sequential read and write transfer speeds of this SSD is rated at 530MBps and 450MBps respectively. Meanwhile, its random read and write are at 80K IOPS each.

Oddly, despite categorising its newly announced SSDs as “affordable”, Colorful has made no mention of their specific prices. Likewise, the release date of these SSDs were not detailed either.
