In case you are wondering whether the headline above referring to a new LED TV line-up, the answer is no. Instead, it is indeed a LED screen that is designed for actual cinemas which according to Samsung as the first of its kind in the world.
Introduced to the world back in March, the Cinema LED Screen that Samsung has installed at Lotte Cinema World Tower in South Korea is 10.3 meters wide. Additionally, the company also stated that the big screen is able to support 4K resolution, HDR contents, and has peak brightness levels of 146fL that apparently almost 10 times more than standard cinema projectors.

Samsung and Lotte Cinema have also choose to pair the LED screen with audio technologies from Samsung’s own subsidiary Harman which inclusive of JBL Sculpted Surround system.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether LED screen will be a norm at cinemas in the near future but nevertheless, Samsung is quite confident of its Cinema LED Screen and already looking to have it in 10% of cinemas throughout the world by 2020. Hence, we are certainly interested to see how the whole industry will react to the new approach in delivering contents to cinema-goers.
