Although we already know its retail price, honor has just launched the honor 8 Pro in Malaysia. Retailing at RM1,999, the Chinese company’s latest flagship smartphone to arrive on our shores is actually pretty interesting.
As its name suggests, the honor 8 Pro is an incremental upgrade over the honor 8. For one, the 8 Pro’s dual-camera system is identical to its predecessor: it’s made up of a 12MP monochrome sensor and a 12MP RGB sensor. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, is an 8MP shooter.
Unlike the honor 8, however, the honor 8 Pro comes with a faster HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor – the very same one found in the Huawei P10 and Mate 9 devices. Aside from that, the 8 Pro no longer has a glass back either; it features a more durable metal build instead.
Rounding out the specifications of the honor 8 Pro are a 5.7-inch 1440p display, a generous 6GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a sizeable 4,000mAh battery, and EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Interestingly, those who purchase the honor 8 Pro will also receive an exclusive skin for Mobile Legends.
The honor 8 Pro is now available on Vmall.my, and it will be available on Lazada as well as 11street at a later date. Looking at phone’s RM1,999 price tag and its feature set, the honor 8 Pro actually offers pretty good value for money.
