Meizu’s next flagship series is shaping up to be quite an interesting one. While many phone makers have implemented secondary displays on their devices, the Meizu Pro 7 phones will have a rather unique one: it’s a fully-functional colour LCD panel placed at the back of the devices right below the dual-camera system.
This isn’t the first time a display is placed on the back of a phone; the YotaPhone comes to mind here. However, it’s quite unusual to see a full colour LCD panel. Leaked images of the device show that the minuscule display can emulate what’s shown on the main display too.
Aside from the rear secondary display, there will supposedly be two models of the Meizu Pro 7: a standard 5.2-inch variant, and a bigger 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch Pro 7 Plus. Aside from the bigger display – and most likely different battery capacities – these two devices have similar hardware.
According to leaked information and rumors, the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus will feature MediaTek’s new Helio X30 processor – it’s been confirmed by MediaTek itself – Full HD displays, 12MP dual-camera systems, and 16MP selfie shooters.
At the time of writing, it still remains to be seen just when the Meizu Pro 7 series will be officially unveiled. Considering the fact that the devices have been leaked extensively, we imagine it won’t be long now.
