If you ever need an example of technology partnership that stand the test of time, Nokia’s phone division and Zeiss is definitely one of it. Since Nokia smartphones are now under HMD Global, some might wonder whether the partnership will continue to exist. Now, we finally have the answer.
Despite what HMD Global might have been said on Twitter earlier this year, Zeiss name and optics will make a return to Nokia smartphones once again thanks to a new partnership between both companies. Said to be a long-term agreement, the partnership is not just about optics though.
Apparently both companies will also be looking into software and services as well. In general, HMD Global and Zeiss are pretty aiming to put Nokia smartphones as the leader in mobile photography just like before.
While there was no new product being announced today, the new agreement pretty much confirmed that consumers will be looking at high quality cameras on future Nokia smartphones. Given how the technology within mobile photography space have improved tremendously over the years, it will be interesting to see what HMD Global and Zeiss able to come out with very soon.
