HP EliteBook x360 & Elite X2 Now in Malaysia; Retail from RM5,299

HP has launched several new enterprise-level laptops in Malaysia: the HP EliteBook x360 as well as the HP Elite X2. While the former is a convertible laptop, the Elite X2 is a Windows 10 tablet not unlike Microsoft’s Surface Pro.

Let’s start with the more “conventional” Windows 10 machine out of the two, the EliteBook x360. This convertible laptop features a 13.3-inch 1080p touch display, an Intel Core i5-7200U processor paired with 4GB of DDR4 RAM, a 128GB M.2 SSD storage, and a very impressive claimed battery life of up to 16 hours and 30 minutes.

The Elite X2, on the other hand, is a Windows 10 tablet with some notable upgrades over its predecessor. Instead of a Core m5-6Y54 processor, this second generation Elite X2 now comes with a more capable Core i5-7200U chip; it also feature a higher resolution 12.3-inch 2736 x 1824 touch display.

Other specifications of the Elite X2 include 4GB of RAM, a 128GB M.2 SSD, and up to 8 to 10 hours of battery life. Much like the EliteBook x360, HP mentioned that the Elite X2 can be charged up to 50% within 30 minutes of charging.

According to HP, both the EliteBook x360 and Elite X2 retail from RM5,299 – excluding GST – in Malaysia. Of course, given that these two machines are business-centric machines, many of their specifications can be customised, which will naturally drive up their prices. As for availability, they can now be purchased locally, although only the EliteBook x360 is currently listed on HP Malaysia’s online store.
