While you might have mistaken them for a Japanese fashion company due to design elements within their products, Superdry actually comes from United Kingdom. Recently, we have learned that the company has actually created its own fitness tracker which apparently has just made its way into Malaysia.
We were not able to pinpoint when actually Superdry begin to release the Superdry Sport Fitness Tracker in other markets but based on our brief conversation with the staff at Superdry Sunway Pyramid, the tracker arrived in Malaysia last month. (UPDATE – 5 July: we’ve reached out to Superdry and the company has confirmed to us that the tracker was released in Malaysia back in January)
As you might able to figure out, the device is designed to track selected activities including amounts of steps and distance taken as well as burnt calories, activity time, and sleep duration. Users do have to download Superdry Sport Fitness app into their Android or iOS devices in order to fully utilize the tracker.
However, the device is not equipped with heart rate monitor. According to its user manual, the Superdry Sport Fitness Tracker is designed to withstand water splashes and rain but not swimming or even showering. The manual also stated that the tracker has a battery life of around 7 days.
Having a digital element to complete its sport collection which has just been launched in Malaysia last year is indeed a plausible effort by Superdry. That being said though, our market is already full of products that features the same capabilities as per Superdry Sport Fitness Tracker and the brand might have to work a little bit harder to convince users that the tracker is worth its RM 649 price tag.
