Quick Look At NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030: Offers Basic Upgrade Over Integrated Graphics

Truth to be told, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 graphics card begin to appear in Malaysia as soon as it was officially revealed to the world back in May. Despite that, NVIDIA still took the effort to personally brief media members regarding the card at its press tour which made a stop in Bangkok last month.

As a refresher, the GeForce GT 1030 is the only GT-class in NVIDIA GeForce 10 series graphics card for desktop PCs. This moniker alone indicates that it is an entry level offering by the company which is designed to provide economical upgrade to users that want to improve the performance of their PC.

In other words, NVIDIA positioned the GT 1030 as a cost-effective solution – complete with support for DirectX 12 – for users that looking to upgrade from the integrated graphics (iGP) within the processor inside their PC but doesn’t require the full firepower of GTX-class graphics cards.

Built with 384 CUDA cores and runs at a clock speed of 1468 MHz, the GT 1030 also comes with 2GB GDDR5 64-bit memory which has memory bandwidth of 48 GB/sec and clocked at 3 Gbps.  At the press tour, NVIDIA also brought along a number of GT 1030 made by some of its partners such as ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, and ZOTAC.

For those are interested to grab a GeForce GT 1030 for their machine, you should be able to do so through you favorite PC hardware retailers throughout Malaysia. In terms of pricing, it varies from one card to another but in general, you should be able to obtain the GT 1030 cards at under RM 500.
