Set to be introduced officially in Malaysia later today, the Asus ZenFone AR has just been listed on Lazada. Retailing at RM3,799, the ZenFone AR – only the second Tango-enabled smartphone to be released – is one of the most costly Android devices in our market.
We first spotted a listing for the ZenFone AR while browsing through Lazada. Interestingly, the ZenFone AR is also listed under Asus Malaysia’s official store on the e-commerce site. Chances are, the product listing for the device went live slightly earlier than the launch event scheduled later today.
Given its steep asking price, the ZenFone AR is naturally a well-equipped smartphone. Although it’s only powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset – Qualcomm’s 2016 flagship SoC – the ZenFone AR comes with a whopping 8GB of RAM as well as 128GB of expandable storage; very generous capacities.
Aside from that, the ZenFone AR also features a 5.7-inch 1440p Super AMOLED display, a 3,300mAh battery, a 23MP f/2.0 rear camera with optical image stabilisation, and an 8MP f/2.0 front-facing shooter.
The Asus ZenFone AR retails at RM3,799 in Malaysia; Asus also mentioned that it is the first device from the company to come with one-to-one exchange within the warranty period. The ZenFone AR will be available for purchase later this week.
