AMD has officially announced its event during the upcoming Siggraph 2017 conference. The red company’s event is dubbed as Capsaicin. Earlier this year, AMD also held a similar event, except instead of Capsaicin, the event was instead flamboyantly called “Capsaicin & Cream.”
At this year’s second AMD Capsaicin event, consumers can expect the company to unveil its newest Radeon Pro and Instinct graphics cards as well as more details regarding the Ryzen Threadripper and EPYC processors. Oddly, the official description of the event made no mention of Radeon RX Vega.
Don’t raise your pitchforks in anger yet, folks. Despite not mentioning it in the description for Capsaicin, an AMD representative, Jason Evangelho, stated that the company will indeed be launching RX Vega during the event.
The same representative has also mentioned that consumers shouldn’t worry about the gaming performance of RX Vega. This, of course, is to address concerns regarding the uninspiring gaming performance of the recently debuted Vega Frontier Edition graphics card. One has to remember: the Vega Frontier Edition is not a graphics card that is meant specifically just for gaming.
Those aside, AMD’s Capsaicin Siggraph event will be held on 31 July 2017 at 10.30am local Malaysian time – we do expect a live stream to be made available. Regardless, it looks like we’re only about 27 days away from the official unveiling of AMD’s Radeon RX Vega graphics card. Will it live up to the immense hype? We’ll see.
