Officially unveiled just earlier this month, the Moto Z2 Play is set to be launched here in Malaysia as early as next week. As the successor to the Moto Z Play, the Z2 Play features a slightly faster processor and a thinner chassis.
On the surface, the Moto Z2 Play doesn’t look all that different from its predecessor, but it does bring with it some changes here and there. The Z Play’s glass back, for one, has been replaced with a more durable metal back on the Z2 Play. More importantly, the Z2 Play measures only 5.99mm thin; the Z Play is thicker at 7mm.
Aside from that, the Z2 Play also comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chipset paired with 3 or 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of expandable storage, a 12MP f/1.7 rear camera with a dual-pixel autofocus system, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 3,000mAh battery; this is quite a change from the Z Play’s more generous 3,510mAh cell.
The Moto Z2 Play will be arriving in Malaysia on 6 July 2017 next week. It still remains to be seen just how much the Z2 Play will be priced locally, and whether or not the four new Moto Mods introduced alongside the device will be made available here.
