Even though the Samsung Galaxy S8 devices were announced slightly later than their predecessors, it appears the successor to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 will be introduced roughly in the same time frame. According to a source familiar with the matter, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be unveiled in August.
This release time frame was reported by Reuters, citing a person that has knowledge on the Galaxy Note 8. The very same source also revealed that the Note 8 will feature a curved display akin to the ones found on the Galaxy S8 phones; it will reportedly be slighter bigger than the 6.2-inch display of the S8+ too.
Interestingly, the source elaborated that the Galaxy Note 8 will in fact sport a dual-camera system. Not only has this been rumoured for quite some time now, earlier reports also mention that the device will be capable of doing 3x optical zoom; we imagine it will be similar to the dual-camera setup of the iPhone 7 Plus (and even the recently announced OnePlus 5).
If the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will in fact be unveiled in August 2017, it’s an interesting move on Samsung’s part. After all, rushing the production of the Note 7 didn’t turn out very well for the Korean company.
