Emporio Armani recently took the curtains off its first touchscreen smartwatch. Not to be confused with its hybrid smartwatch, this new watch features a digital display, and runs on Android Wear 2.0. Announced at the recent Milan Fashion Week, it will be available for purchase on 14 September 2017 at Armani’s website, and selected stores.
The new touchscreen smartwatch from Emporio Armani is similar to other Android Wear 2.0 devices in the market right now. It can keep track of your activities such as steps and sleeps, features Google Assistant, lets you control your music, and many more. It runs on Android Wear 2.0, and is powered by Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. The company did not provide the exact details about the touch display, however, Fossil Group did mention that the AMOLED is “high resolution”.
As for the design, the new EA touchscreen smartwatch has customisable watch faces, with up to 11 straps for you to pick from ranging from leather to silicone, and stainless steel. It looks similar to the company’s watches released late last wear, with a crown on the frame, and two buttons on the top and bottom of the crown.
If you still prefer an analogue watch, Armani also announced a new line of Emporio Armani Connected hybrid smartwatches. It looks similar to the current EA Connected smartwatch, but it is now available in a slimmer form.
Sadly though, Armani did not provide the price of its new smartwatches. Its current line of hybrid smartwatches ranges from US$200 to US$375 (RM860 – RM1,610), so don’t expect the latest range to be any cheaper.
