Local telco Digi has announced a one-year partnership with local League of Legends team, Kuala Lumpur Hunters (KLH). They will now join KLH’s long-standing sponsor Logitech by providing both monetary and equipment support.
As a result of this partnership, the Kuala Lumpur Hunters will be going on a one month esports boot camp in South Korea. KLH players will have their skills put to the test on the Korean server – that’s where the most competitive League of Legends players are at.
This isn’t the first time Digi and Logitech have ventured into the world of esports. Digi, for one, organised and sponsored a few tournaments including ESL One Genting and a Clash Royale contest, just to name a few. Not only that, the company also sponsored local Dota 2 team WarriorsGaming.Unity.
As for Logitech, the company has been a long time sponsor of international esports teams like Cloud 9 and Team Solomid (TSM). The company is now extending the same sponsorship to local teams by providing KLH members with its newly launched Logitech G433 7.1 gaming headset.
Kuala Lumpur Hunters was founded back in 2012; the current roster is made up of five players. These include Malaysian esports icon and team captain, Poon “OzoraVeki” Kok Sing, Adrian “Shiro” Lee, Eric “Qaspiel” Sia, Chan “ArrHedge” Roonghan, and Ramsay “Bipolar” Devaraj.
It’s great to see that more companies are coming together to support our local esports teams. Hopefully, this will further bolster the esports scene in Malaysia.
