It looks like Apple has quietly added a new annual subscription plan for its Apple Music streaming service. Previously, the company only offered monthly subscription for individual and family plans. With the new annual plan, Apple Music subscribers can save some money provided they pay the entire year’s subscription at one go.
Sadly though, this new annual plan is not available for Apple Music subscribers in Malaysia. At the time of writing, Apple only gives its Malaysian users two options – RM14.90/month for individual plan, or RM22.90/month for family plan. Users in the U.S. can opt to pay US$9.99 for monthly plan, or save about 17.5% on the new annual plan going for US$99/year.
In case you wish to keep track of your Apple Music subscription and switch to an annual plan if it ever gets introduced in Malaysia, it requires quite some steps. New users would have to subscribe to a monthly plan first. Existing subscribers can go to your subscription settings to change to an annual plan.
To do so, simply open up the App Store, and scroll to the bottom of the Featured tab. Tap on your Apple ID, enter your password, and tap on “View Apple ID”. From there, tap on the Subscriptions button, and go to your Apple Music membership settings.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Apple brings its annual subscription plan to us Malaysians.
