We are inching closer to The International 2017 and Valve has finally announced its list of Dota 2 teams who will receive direct invites. This year, The International will be held from the 7th to 12th of August 2017 at the Key Arena in Seattle, USA.
The International 2017 Direct Invites
Out of a total of eighteen teams competing, the six teams to receive direct invites to TI7 are “Major Experts” Team OG, TI5 champions Team Evil Geniuses, TI2 champions Team Invictus Gaming, TI4 champions Team Newbee, Team Virtus.Pro, and Team Liquid.
For those not invited, teams will have to compete for their chance in their respective region qualifiers. There will be three slots each for the Europe, China, Southeast Asia, and Americas regions. The regional qualifiers will be happening from the 26th to 29th of June 2017.
But right before that, open qualifiers will be held from the 22nd to 25th of June 2017. There will be a total of 16 slots for the open qualifiers, which are – as the name implies- open to all teams worldwide. Those interested in taking part in the Open Qualifiers may do so here (for teams in the Americas, Europe, CIS, and Southeast Asia) and here (for teams in China).
