AMD’s recently announced Radeon Frontier graphics cards are now available for pre-order in selected regions. These are the Radeon Vega Frontier Radeon Vega Frontier Liquid and Air workstation graphics cards, which are the company’s first cards to utilise the Vega GPU.
Before we get down to the actual pricing, it’s worth taking a look at the specifications of the Radeon Vega Frontier graphics card first. Both the Liquid and Air variant of the Vega Frontier comes with 64 compute units (4096 stream processors); 13.1 TFLOPS FP32 compute power; 1600MHz clock speed; 16GB HBM2 memory; 300W (Air) and 375W (Liquid) TDP each; and a memory bandwidth speed of 483Gbps.
The difference in performance between the Radeon Vega Frontier and the company’s older R9 Fury X graphics card are actually quite significant. That aside, when it comes to pricing, the Air-cooled variant of this graphics card comes with a price tag of £1,139 (about RM6,222). Meanwhile, the Liquid-cooled version has a significantly higher price of £1,656 (around RM9,046).
Unfortunately, pre-orders for AMD’s Radeon Vega Frontier graphics cards are apparently only made available in selected regions. Regardless, knowing the price of its workstation-based cards, it’ll be interesting to see how AMD will price its consumer Vega-based graphics cards. Hopefully, they would be more “affordable.”
