The Pokemon Company’s Tsunekazu Ishihara announced a brand new core Pokemon title for the Nintendo Switch during the Nintendo Spotlight at E3. This almost, but doesn’t quite make up for the disappointment from last week.
There is practically no information about the status of the first core Pokemon game to reach consoles. All that was said is that the game may not launch for more than a year. Likely meaning a late 2018 or even a 2019 release date. Or perhaps that the game is still in the early stages of development.
Nintendo disappointed fans last week with its first Nintendo Direct focused on Pokemon by announcing Pokken Tournament DX, and Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. This revelation at E3 doesn’t do much to ease that feeling, since the game people want to see is still so far off in the future.
