Fresh rumours regarding Nvidia and AMD’s plan to release specific graphics cards just for cryptocurrency mining have surfaced. Nvidia is expected to release a special GTX 1060 graphics card with a new Pascal GPU called GP106-100. This graphics card is said to come with no display connectors, no gaming support, and only about 90 days of warranty.
The recent boom in mining for cryptocurrency amongst general consumers is reaching its all-time high. This, of course, is pretty evident in certain countries where graphics cards like the Radeon RX 580 are almost always out of stock, and sometimes sold at a higher price.
That said, cryptocurrency graphics cards are expected to be priced lower compared to their gaming-oriented counterparts. As for AMD, it seems that the company too will be introducing a special Polaris-based graphics card just for the sole purpose of mining digital currency, but not much is known regarding the red company’s variant, for now.
Aside from rumours mentioning their existence, not much else is known regarding the price, release date, and specifications of Nvidia and AMD’s upcoming cryptocurrency-oriented graphics cards.
