The honor 8 was a pretty good flagship smartphone, and it appears the device will be receiving a successor very, very soon. Based on honor’s latest teaser poster, the honor 9 will likely be introduced on 12 June 2017; that’s only one week away.
In the teaser poster below, a big “9” is prominently displayed along with what seems like a logo that signify a dual-camera setup. Seeing how the honor 8 came with a dual-camera system not unlike the one found on the Huawei P9, we imagine the honor 9 may sport a similar camera setup like the more recent Huawei P10 series.
As far as specifications go, the honor 9 is said to be packing a 5.15-inch 1080p display, a HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor – the same chipset found in the Mate 9 and P10 – up to 6GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage that’s further expandable with a microSD card, and a 3,100mAh battery.
In terms of design, alleged listings of the honor 9 on TENAA – China’s certification body – reveal that the device will now sport a front-facing fingerprint sensor; much like the Huawei P10 devices. On top of that, there’s also a dual-camera system on the back of the phone, which is believed to be made up of 20MP and 12MP sensors. The honor 9 will supposedly come with an 8MP front-facing camera too.
These specifications certainly make for a rather interesting high-end smartphone, and only time will tell if these are in fact the final hardware of the honor 9. All will be revealed come 12 June next week.
