At WWDC 2017, Apple didn’t forget to mention about its iPad. However, this is limited to the company’s high-performance tablet, the iPad Pro which has now been refreshed with new set of hardware and surprisingly, a new size as well.
With this year’s edition of iPad Pro, Apple has moved away from the 9.7-inch model and has replaced it with 10.5-inch display. According to the company, the new display size apparently enabled it to support full size on-screen keyboard as well as full size physical Smart Keyboard.
Other than that, both 2017 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch models also feature a new display technology called ProMotion. Through the new technology, the refresh rate of the 120Hz panel on both devices can be scales according to apps’ specific need in order to save battery power. The new panel apparently helps improve Apple Pencil latency as well at 20 ms.
Not enough with that, these new iPad Pros are also equipped with equally new A10X Fusion processor that features six-core CPU and 12-core GPU. The company claimed that the new CPU and GPU in the processor is 30% and 40% faster than the previously released A9X processor.
Apple has also equipped the 2017 iPad Pro with the same 12-megapixels camera and optical image stabilization from iPhone 7. They also comes standard with 7-megapixel FaceTime HD camera.
Despite these changes, Apple claimed that the 2017 iPad Pro still able to deliver up to 10 hours of battery life just like their predecessors. It is not known when they will be made available in our market but Apple has revealed that the new 2017 iPad Pro will be priced from RM 2,999 onwards in Malaysia.
