While the iMac has been refreshed with new hardware to make it better than before, Apple is working on even more powerful model that will be released to consumers this December. Called iMac Pro, it even comes in dark grey colorway rather than its standard light grey aluminum finish.
In order to meet its status as the most powerful Mac ever made and deliver workstation-class performance, the iMac Pro was fitted with plenty of high-end hardware. Alongside a 27-inch Retina 5K display, consumers are able to obtain the new system with up to 18-core Intel Xeon processor as well as AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64 GPU with HBM2-based 16GB VRAM.
While the base model will come with 32GB DDR4-2666 ECC memory and 1TB solid state drive, the iMac Pro is able to support up to 128GB RAM and 4TB SSD. It also comes with 10Gb Ethernet port and four USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports.
In order to cool down all these powerful hardware, Apple has implement a new thermal system that apparently able to provide up to 80% more cooling capacity than a standard iMac. This despite being built using the same thin design that is synonym with iMac.
With a starting price tag of USD 4,999 (about RM 21,314), the pricing for the new iMac Pro in Malaysia is not yet known at the moment. Nevertheless, it will be available in our market this coming December as noted on Apple Malaysia’s official website.
