Computex 2017: Asus Unveils The ROG Strix X299-E Motherboard

Asus has unveiled its brand new motherboard called the ROG Strix X299-E. Of course, as many of you may have guessed, this motherboard is made for Intel’s new Core-i9 processorsInterestingly, Asus’ newest motherboard seem to somewhat resemble the company’s older Strix Z270.

Specification-wise, the Asus ROG Strix X299-E is fitted with an Intel LGA 2066 socket and eight DDR4 slots, which apparently are able to support bandwidth speeds beyond 4000MHz and a total capacity of up to 128GB. In addition, the motherboard is also equipped with three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, two PCIe 3.0 x4 slots and one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot.

Other I/O connectivity options include: eight SATA 6GBps ports, four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, along with one each an USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C ports. As expected, Asus’ ROG Strix X299-E is endowed with LED-lit areas as well. More specifically, LED-lit areas can be found towards the bottom area of the CPU socket and the I/O cover as well.

Speaking of which, the ROG Strix X299-E motherboard also features a dedicated heatsink for the M.2 slot area and another heatsink for the VRMs too. Finally, this motherboard also comes with Asus’ SupremeFX audio controller as well.

Unfortunately, local pricing and date of availability was not mentioned by Asus.
