A couple of months ago, Andy Rubin – the co-founder of Android – teased his company’s upcoming bezel-less smartphone. Not too long ago, the company in question – Essential – sent out its first-ever tweet, and it promises “something big is coming” on 30 May. Chances are, Essential is ready to unveil its very first smartphone.
Aside from its edge-to-edge display – which looks similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix – Essential’s new smartphone will be a high-end one. Other than that, it’s also said to be sporting a metal frame and a ceramic back; these should give the device a premium look and feel.

Interestingly, Bloomberg reported back in January that Essential is working on “a proprietary connector that serves double duty for charging the battery and expanding the phone’s functionality over time.” Based on this info – and the company’s tweet above – there’s a possibility Essential’s new phone is modular to some extent.
Although there’s a very good chance Essential will be unveiling its high-end Android smartphone next week, it’s worth noting that the company is working on more than one product. The tweet above, for one, is said to be a 360-degree camera of some sort; it may be a standalone product rather than a modular accessory for Essential’s new phone.
Hi, welcome to our Twitter page. We're here to let you know something big is coming May 30th! Stay tuned…

Regardless, all will be revealed next week on 30 May. As the co-founder of Android, we imagine Rubin’s upcoming smartphone will be rather interesting.
