UPDATE: Article now include information from additional source.
After Mavic Pro, many consumers were mesmerized with drone once again with the launch of DJI Spark last night. If you already planning to get your hands on it, get your wallet ready then because the mini drone might be coming to Malaysia sooner than you expected.
According to the well-known local photography online retailer Shashinki, Spark is expected to be available in Malaysia by the middle of June. By that, the store doesn’t mean parallel imported unit but official unit that is covered by warranty from DJI (or at least, its official representative in Malaysia).
In terms of pricing, Spark’s basic set which includes the drone itself, battery, charger, and three pairs of propellers will cost RM 2,399. However, the retailer didn’t announce the availability and pricing for Spark Fly More Combo which is packed with even more batteries and propellers as well as remote controller, propeller guards, charging hub, and shoulder bag.
Meanwhile, one of DJI’s partner in Malaysia called March have also release a number of information regarding Spark’s arrival in our market which is slightly contradicting than what Shashinki has listed. This include the estimated arrival date of mid-July as well as the pricing for the mini drone.
According to March, Spark’s basic set will cost RM 2,380 while the Spark Fly More Combo is listed at RM 3,300. Furthermore, March also has full list of pricing for Spark’s accessories.
Despite the contradicting information, we believe that both set of information are rather accurate given that the reputation of both companies as well as the fact that DJI has more than one official partners in Malaysia. Nevertheless, both parties have already started taking pre-orders for the new DJI Spark, so head on to their websites for further details.
