Lenovo Malaysia will be launching the Moto G5 Plus in Malaysia at the end of this month. The company has just sent out media invitations for the launch of the affordable mid-range smartphone.
Announced at MWC 2017, the Moto G5 Plus was introduced alongside the slightly lower-end Moto G5. The Moto G5 Plus features a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display, a capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, a 12MP f/1.7 rear camera, a 5MP front-facing shooter, and a 3,000mAh battery. It also runs on Android 7.0 out of the box.
Interestingly, Lenovo Malaysia actually registered this product for SIRIM certification in January 2017, before the global unveiling at MWC.
The Moto G5 Plus carries a price tag of €279 (about RM1,350) in the European market, but it shouldn’t be an indication of the Malaysian retail price – the Value Added Tax in Europe is about 20%. Hence, we can expect the device to be priced slightly lower than the RM1,199 Moto M, which was released to the Malaysian market in January this year.
