For some, Fujifilm’s Instax camera might be a lo-fi tech in the world full of camera phones and digital cameras but it certainly has plenty of fans throughout the world especially among youth. If you are one such fan: we have great news for you then: the company have launched two new Instax models in Malaysia.
One of them is the Instax Square SQ10 which is not exactly a traditional Instax camera. Instead, it is an hybrid mix of digital camera and instant photo as it allows user to digitally edit their shots right in the camera before printing them out.
Equipped with a 2-megapixels 1/4-inch CMOS sensor and f/2.4 28.5mm fixed lens, the camera also features a 3-inch LCD display. Within the camera’s editing mode, users are able to utilize 10 different photo filters alongside manual brightness and vignette control.
Given its digital nature, users can also choose to save their shots into microSD card which is supported by the camera. The Square SQ10 also marked the debut of Instax new Square photo format which uses 1:1 aspect ratio and can be obtained in a box of 10 film prints for RM 48.
For those who prefer to have the analogue Instax camera, worry not – there is still a new camera for you in the form of Instax mini 9. While it might look rather similar to Instax mini 8, the new model does feature a number of additional feature such as a selfie mirror and close-up lens attachment.
In terms of pricing, the new Instax Square SQ10 is listed at RM 1,328 while the Instax mini 9 goes for RM 348. Both cameras will be made available through Instax retailers throughout Malaysia from 22 May onwards although up till 21 May, users can also choose to take advantage of the on-going Square SQ10 pre-order and mini 9 launch promotion at AK Japan Festival in Avenue K in addition to the Wonder Photo Shop in Sunway Pyramid and Lot 10.
