Great news folks: it looks like we aren’t too far away from getting our first look at a Ryzen-powered gaming notebook. Asus has apparently released a short teaser, which showcases a silhouette of a ROG-branded gaming notebook along with an unmissable Ryzen logo in the background.
In the aforementioned teaser, Asus has also hinted that the Ryzen-powered gaming notebook will be unveiled during Computex 2017. When AMD stated that Ryzen mobile CPUs will be made available by the second half of 2016, we didn’t think it’ll be this soon. That said, it’s unclear whether the upcoming ROG notebook will come with a Ryzen CPU or an APU.
According to AMD, during its recent Financial Analyst Day event, future Ryzen APUs will come with Vega graphics as well, but it’s unlikely that this will be the case with soon to be released ROG notebook; especially when considering the fact that desktop Radeon RX Vega graphics cards are yet to be announced.
Regardless, it’ll be very interesting to see which Ryzen processors will be fitted into the upcoming Asus ROG gaming notebook – and how well it’ll perform. Asus’ Computex 2017 ROG press conference will be held at the end of this month, so expect the company to announce more details regarding this gaming notebook during the event.
