The HTC U11 is the Taiwanese company’s first true flagship smartphone this year, and it comes with hardware and features that are quite compelling. Well, it appears the device will be coming to Malaysia as early as next month, and it will carry a pretty competitive price tag too.
According to HTC, the company is aiming to bring the U11 into Malaysia by the second week of June 2017; it will also bring in the highest-end model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. HTC also elaborated that the U11 will roughly retail at the same price point as the HTC U Ultra Sapphire Edition. For the sake of comparison, the latter is currently going for RM2,999 on our shores.
Without a doubt the U11 is HTC’s most interesting flagship smartphone yet. It has a very promising 12MP UltraPixel 3 camera – DxOMark rated it higher than the Google Pixel’s excellent camera – as well as Edge Sense, which allows users to launch specific apps by simply squeezing the U11’s frame.
Aside from that, the U11 also comes with a 5.5-inch 1440p Super LCD 5 display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, a rather modest 3,000mAh battery, as well as an IP67 rating – it’s great to see that more flagship smartphones are dust- and water-resistant now.
If the HTC U11 does launch in Malaysia by next month, it will certainly be a very, very timely launch. Hopefully, it will retail at the same price point as the RM2,999 U Ultra Sapphire Edition as well.
