Samsung’s latest flagship – and very premium – range of QLED TVs have landed in Malaysia. Available in three distinct series – the Q7, Q8 and Q9 – Samsung touts these QLED TVs to be superior than OLED TVs. A lofty claim, yes, but the Korean company’s flagship TVs do pack some impressive features.
One of the most noteworthy advantages these QLED TVs have over its competition is brightness. According to Samsung, its QLED TVs have a peak brightness between 1,500 and 2,000 nits. Basically, these are really, really bright TVs, and not many TVs are capable of this feat.
Thanks to quantum dot technology, these QLED TVs also have improved colour reproduction. Samsung says its QLED TVs can produce “100% colour volume,” which means they can “express all colours at any level of brightness.” Taking this into consideration, consumers can expect to get deeper blacks, accurate colour reproduction, as well as very high brightness levels with these QLED TVs.
On the software side of things, Samsung’s QLED TVs are naturally powered by Tizen – Samsung’s very own Smart TV operating system. As an added bonus to anyone that purchase these QLED TVs, Samsung is collaborating with iflix to offer 12 months of complimentary subscription to the streaming service – this offer applies to all 2017 Samsung smart TVs too, and it’s valid until 30 June 2017.
As many as six models of Samsung QLED TVs are available in Malaysia right now. The Q7 lineup, for one, is available in three sizes: 55-inch (RM12,999), 65-inch (RM19,999), and 75-inch (RM35,999). The curved Q8, on the other hand, is available in 65-inch (RM22,999) and 75-inch (RM36,999). Last but not least is the Q9, which is only available in 88-inch for a cool RM99,999.
