Navigating on Google Maps has just gotten a lot easier. Google recently updated its Maps app on Android, showing you a Street View of the exact road you’re supposed to turn into when navigating. This is a minor update, but very useful, especially around roads where there are multiple exits near each other.
The update was first spotted by Android Police. When you are navigating on Google Maps, Google will show you a small thumbnail of the actual street you are supposed to turn into. Sadly though, you will still need to take your hands off the wheels and tap on the image to enlarge it. Like a normal Street View, you can have a 360-degree view just to make sure you have the correct turn.
Of course, it is not advisable for you to actually look at your phone while driving. You can check your route info before driving, Google will also show you a Street View of each of the turns you’re supposed to take. Alternatively, if you are travelling with someone, this update will also make it easier for them to tell you exactly which turn to take.
This feature is currently available for Google Maps on Android, but since Google Maps on iOS usually gets the same features and looks, let’s keep our fingers crossed that Google wouldn’t take too long to implement it to Google Maps on iOS.
